Brunch is a great way to host an afternoon with friends and enjoy each other's company by reconnecting over an effortless meal when all can bring something to the table.
When you turn your passion into a job, it’s nice to be reminded of why I became so at home in the kitchen. A Sunday brunch with some fabulous women is one way I take a break from cooking. The connections I have made in Oslo are very dear to me. By inviting my friends home to share an afternoon of good food, fun drinks and meaningful conversation, I am reminded of the reason why I love bringing people together through food. The ladies delivered by bringing a contribution to brunch to share with the group.
We enjoyed a traditional Eritrean coffee ceremony in my living room, some delicious dishes and delightful desserts. Along with great food for brunch, bringing friends together to enjoy an sunny Sunday afternoon we learned of the amazing project these women are working on. Designer, Anette Dimwa of As We: Are Now brought along some of her creations from her innovative lifestyle brand and Fiorella Mykkle-Blomst showcased some Peruvian jewelry to add some bling to the occasion.
We spent the afternoon connecting, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. I am a big fan of opening up my home to friends, new and old. There’s no need for an occasion. Just to be invited is a touching sentiment and is a sincere thank you to the people that come into your life with surprising inspiration.
